White Christmas!

Only 4 days left to take advantage of the FREE BIG SHOT deal from Stampin’ Up!!!

Today’s card is all about WHITE, the only non-white thing on the card is the silver embossed sentiment. The punches used on this card are the Doily Triple Layer Punch, the Decorative Label Punch and the Word Window Punch. This would be a great card to make if you only had Whisper White paper left in your stash (if you only had Whisper White paper, it’s probably a good time to call me with an order ;) ) or just to give yourself a challenge. Speaking of challenge, why don’t you try to make a card with only ONE colour of paper and send me a picture of it. I’d be happy to post your pictures on my blog…with credit to you of course. I hope you like the card and enjoy the video.

Happy Valentine’s!!!

Tomorrow both kids are having their Valentine’s day parties at school, which means we had to prepare cards for all kids in their classes tonight. My daughter wanted princess cards for her friends, so we bought those and put a lollipop and sticker with each one. I was so proud of her, she printed her name, the names of her teachers and the names of most kids on their cards. She’s very excited about giving them out tomorrow! I got to make the cards for my son’s classmates and his teachers…YAY!!!  Here is one of the cards I made tonight. I hope you like it and enjoy the video. Please leave a comment!

Card Stock: Very Vanilla, Real Red and Chocolate Chip

Ink: Real Red and Pretty in Pink

Stamp Sets: Teeny Tiny Wishes and With all my Heart

Other: White Gel Pen, Sending Love DSP (Designer Series Paper) and 1/4 inch Pretty in Pink Grosgrain Ribbon

Keepin’ it Simple and Sweet!

I know I haven’t been actively posting like I hoped I would be at the beginning of the year. I’ve just been exhausted with my son getting sick, than preparing my swap for the demonstrator Megameeting, than for the Open house and now I’m preparing for the first Scrapbooking Club meeting on February 18th.  Besides all that, I’m in the search for hostesses, so if you’re interested give me a call ;) . I was hoping to have a workshop or two during Sale-a-bration but it seems like everyone is just too busy. I totally understand!!! Speaking of that demo megameeting, I forgot to share my swap card with you; I’ll take a picture of it and post it tomorrow.

With everything going on and everyone being so busy, I decided to put together a couple of super simple and fast cards. Using KISS (Keep it simple sweetie!) design principles makes these cards fun and beautiful (or at least I think so :) ). I hope you like them too!

Note: I promise never to wear that sweat shirt again while making a video, so you can actually see my hands.

Card Stock: Whisper White

Ink: Rose Red

Stamp Set: Teeny Tiny Wishes

Other:Paper piercer and the Felt Stitched Sweet Pea flower, leaves and buttons.

Card Stock: Whisper White, Rose Red and Chocolate Chip

Ink: Rose Red and Chocolate Chip

Stamp Set: Teeny Tiny Wishes and Out of the Box (Level 1 hostess set)

Happy Birthday Matt!

It’s my hubby’s birthday today, so guess what? I made him a card…what a surprise! This will have to be a very short post tonight but I promise a longer one tomorrow with 2 videos. Here is a picture and the video of the card I made him. I hope he (and you, of course) likes it!

Now to the fun part! I managed to put this card and video together for you despite having a sick little boy most of last week and all weekend. He’s feeling better though, thank God! I can’t believe it’s almost been a whole week since I posted…wow, time flies! I’m not sure if the pictures of this card do it justice, it’s such a beautiful card. I’ll have it on display at the open house if you want to see it in person. Anyway, enjoy the video and leave a comment!

Never ending B-day card video!

WOW, this card took forever to make and the video took forever to edit. I must have been so tired when I was making it because nothing seemed to work out. I think I did and re-did every part of the card at least 2-3 times, could you hear the frustration in my voice? In the end I finally have a card and a video to share with you. If you find this video a little long, I’m really really sorry…I tried to cut out as much of it as I could but I may have missed some parts where I’m just thinking about how to fix it or how to make it better. At least you’ll get a little taste of what goes on in my head when I’m making a card, LOL!!! I made this card for a Crazy 4 Challenge, I just hope I didn’t miss the deadline. Anyway, enjoy the video!

Sweet Pea!

How sweet is that Sweet Pea Stitched Felt set??? I love it!!! It caught my eye from the moment I saw it in the new mini, I just couldn’t wait to get them. I’ve actually had them for a couple of weeks and for some reason I didn’t want to open the package…they just looked so cute! Anyway, I finally broke, opened the package and made this adorable card. I made a video for you so you can see how easy it is to use them. You can probably get 20 cards out of each set…what a great deal!!! I hope you like the card.

Stamp Set: With all my Heart

Not 1 but 2!

Today I have not 1 but 2 videos for you! The first one is a tutorial on the new clear mount stamps that Stampin’ Up! is introducing in the new Occasions Mini Catalogue. The second video shows you how I made the card I will be using for my SWAP on Sunday. I’m so excited about Jenn’s downline meeting, the last one was so much FUN!!! I learned so much and got to meet a bunch of other crazy stampers…I’m not alone ;) !!! Anyway, since Sale-A-Bration started yesterday, now is a great time to host a workshop for your friends.  Give me a shout to set up a date.  I hope you enjoy the videos!

In summary, Clear Mounted Stamps are awesome because:

  1. The packaging is nothing short of brilliant
  2. They’re made of rubber not acrylic
  3. They take up less space which means you can store MORE
  4. They cost about 25% less than the wood mounted stamps so you can buy MORE…YAY!!!

Stamp Set: With all My Heart

Card Stock: Whisper White, Pretty in Pink and Real Red

Ink:Real Red and Versamark

Other: Scalloped Edge punch, white gel pen, white embossing powder and silver brad

Faux Leather Gift Card Wallet

So I volunteered to present a WOW at my upline’s next Demonstrator meeting on Saturday…I’m very excited about it but also a little nervous. I mean, really what I could I show a bunch of very experienced stampers. I’ve been searching all over the web and I finally found something that may be worthy. I can’t even remember where I saw it but it’s obviously not my idea, so I won’t take credit. I think I need to work on my embellishments but I really like the technique…I hope you like it too.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!!! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and New Year’s day. As you may have noticed, my blog has been changed / updated quite a bit in the last few days. I hope you like the changes. My goal for 2010 is to post at least one video and one card picture a week. I’ll also make sure to post any Stampin’ Up! specials or promotions as they come up.  You may or may not know that I’m very excited about trying out a new kind of class starting in February which I hope you’ll enjoy. It’s a monthly scrapbooking class where you’ll get to create a 2 page layout for the previous month. Assuming you come to all the classes, you’ll end up with a 24 page scrapbook for 2010. If you’re interested in learning more about the class please contact me.

Today’s card is a celebration of new beginnings, it’s for my neighbour who’s expecting her first in a few days. I’m very excited about meeting him and finding out his name. I’m sure he’ll be a cutie pie…all babies are! The picture below is of a couple of other baby cards I made last week, one for my cousin who just had the cutiest little baby girl and the other…well, I’m not sure who it’s for. I’m sure I’ll find it a good home soon.  I hope you like the cards!

Cutest little box!

It’s been a busy week and I think it’s only going to get busier till Christmas. This is my favourite time of year and there’s so much I want to do, I’m just not sure when it’ll all get done. I may have to take a few days off work to catch up on all the stuff I need/want to do. Ben’s first birthday party this past weekend went really well. I think everyone enjoyed their time — I know I did. It was so nice seeing everyone and catching up with those we hadn’t seen in a while.

I’m so excited about the Halloween Scrapbooking workshops coming up this week!!! I hope you’re all coming to one…

Oh my goodness, I almost forgot to tell you about the HUGE SALE happening this week. Stampin’ Up! is having a 30% to 50% off sale on selected items. Check out the website at www.stampinup.ca and email me your orders…there’s about 4 or 5 bundles that I have my eye on. Remember you can still win the “More the Merrier” hostess level 3 stamp set. For every $50 you spend you’ll be entered to win.  The draw will be on December 1st so make sure to get your orders in by November 30th. I’m totally excited about my first draw!

Alright, now to the video. Today’s video is another box that one of the girls at the workshop I did this weekend fell in love with…and who won’t really, it’s SOOO cute!!! Let me know what you think.

Triangle Box Video

This video was requested by a friend who came to one of my workshops and really liked this box. She couldn’t remember how to make it, so hopefully this video will help refresh her memory! Things have been pretty quiet around here. The kids got their H1N1 flu shots on Thursday, but it caused them both a fever for most of the weekend. So much for all our plans. It turned out OK though, it was so nice hanging out at home with the kids…my daughter and I made Christmas boxes, baked muffins and watched endless hours of Dora and Diego (Thank God for Treehouse on Demand). Anyway, enjoy the video and please leave a comment.

Simple Snow Swirled Card

WOW…I’m liking this video thing.  I made this card because a friend of mine wants to make it for her Christmas cards this year but I think she just doesn’t know where to start. I’m hoping that this video will get her started on the right track.

Well, the last 24 hours have just been an emotional roller-coaster. Our baby, whose almost one years old, tumbled down a full flight of stairs yesterday…it was the scariest day of my life.  I believe that God sent his angles to protect my little boy yesterday, they carried him down those stairs for sure. We took him to emergency because he was so dazed and wasn’t responsive but by the time the doctor saw him, he was back to normal. We just have to watch him very closely. All I can say is, Thank God he’s ok and that he’s still with me today.

Anyway, back to the card. I hope you enjoy watching the video and remember please leave me a comment.

My first VIDEO!!!

Well, I’ve finally been able to finish editing my first video. It’s not perfect, but it’s a start. It has been a very frustrating but rewarding experience. I learned how to use video editing software that I’ve never used before and I’m learning new techniques every time I “re-edit” the video. I had my computer crash on me when I was almost done … and of course I hadn’t saved my work (bad, very bad). I also lost my first narration attempt. I’m not sure where it went so I had to re-record the whole thing at least 3 times. Anyway, watch the video and please leave me a comment with your thoughts on the video and the card.
