From Megameeting

Today’s card was one of the ones we made at Megameeting (a meeting organized by my upline’s upline that is full of WOW presentation, make and takes and business training). It was an awesome meeting as always! I meant to share some of the make and takes with you earlier but just kept forgetting, so here is one of my favourites. I think I like this card so much because I’m longing for spring and summer so badly and the colours are so summery. Today’s weather certainly put a damper on my excitement, but looking at this card brighten my mood a bit. I’m happy to say that I’m actually finished preparing for tomorrow’s scrapbooking class before midnight…unheard of!!! What can I say, I procrastinate sometimes;)

Please note the date change on the All Occasions Stamp-a-Stack to April 10th. You can check out the details at the top of my blog. Hope to see you all there!!!

Take care!

You’re invited card!

Today’s card is the invitation for my daughter’s birthday party. She’s so excited, she keeps asking how much longer till her birthday. I showed her the card a couple of days ago and she loved it! I finally got some time tonight to start putting the cards together. I think I would have been done if it hadn’t been for our awful printers. Yes, I said printer”s”…all three just wouldn’t work properly. Anyway, I hope you like her card as much as she does!

Take care!

Purple Bliss!

Today’s card was inspired by two things – I wanted to use the scalloped circle card base I made 3 or 4 months ago but hadn’t used yet and a monochromatic colour scheme. Purple was the colour choice, just because that’s the kind of mood I was in tonight thanks to this mini-project.

I wanted to do something nice for my daughter because she was so good this morning and evening. She loves taking the scraps from my recycling bin and tracing the shapes that I punched out. So I thought why not make her her very own set of cutouts that she can trace or sponge anytime that she wants. I used some retired cardstock (I can’t remember the name of the colour) and punched out all of the punches that I have. I just had to use purple because it’s her absolute favourite colour, although pink is a close second — thus my purple mood today. I’m going to give it to her tomorrow morning IF she gets ready on time ;)

Anyway, back to the card. I used my favourite SAB stamp set, Bliss and the Beautiful Wings embosslite. I love the effect of adding a layer of vellum on top of the butterflies and rotating them just a tad. The colours are Very Vanilla, Perfect Plum and Elegant Eggplant.

I’m still looking for a few hostesses for March – call me if you’re interested.

I hope you like the card!

Get Well Soon

Today’s card is so simple but oh so sweet! I made this card for my grandma who’s in the hospital right now. It uses the Itty Bitty Bits Stamp Set and the coordinating punch pack. I really like how I coloured the rhinestones on the Build-a-Bear card from a couple of weeks ago so I decided to colour these ones too to match the card stock. By the way, we had our first scrapbooking session this past week and everyone loved the design. I have to say it was one of my favourite colour combinations — very serene. If you’re interested in seeing what we’ve done so far (2010 and January 2011) let me know and I’ll be happy to show you.

Anyway, I hope you like the card!

Baptism Card

Today’s card was made a for a little cutie pie that was just Baptized on the weekend. It was so nice celebrating such a special event! I took the pictures of the card before I realized that the little bird needed an eye so I just used my Soft Suede Stampin’ Write marker to make a dot for an eye. In hide sight, a basic pearl may have been very pretty too. Oh well, next time. The stamp set I used for the sentiment is actually retired but it was just perfect for this occasion. I used one of my favourite colour combinations – Baja Breeze, Whisper White and Chocolate Chip. I just LOVE it!

Just wanted to remind you that now is the BEST time to host a Stampin’ Party for your friends. You can all earn free products with Sale-a-bration, so your friends will appreciate the timing too. Check out the video at the bottom of the post for some info about Stampin’ Up! then call me to pick a date!

I hope you like the card!

Happy Birthday Weave

Today’s card started out as a challenge for myself to use only left over scraps — I just cleaned out my scrap bins. I had (and still have) lots of strips like the ones weaved to create the background. I was hoping to have more of the Pumpkin Pie card stock showing through but my weave was a little tighter than I wanted. When the background was finished it reminded me of a placemat I made in elementary school, so I thought it would be fun to put something food related on the card. It just happens that I got my Stampin’ Up! shipment today (YAY, YAY, YAY…it’s very exciting) which included my Build a Cupcake punch and the Create a Cupcake stamp set from the Occasions Mini Catalogue. There are so many beautiful stamp sets and accessories in this catalogue, it was really hard to choose! I used a piece of a Stampin’ dimensional to stick the cherry to the cupcake to give it a pop and stitched around the circle (2.5 inch circle punch) using my Moonlight Smooch. I really like the effect it gave, a little different from my white gel pen.

Thanks for dropping by and I hope you like the card!

Happy birthday to a special girl…little G!

I can’t believe the weekend is coming to an end already and I still haven’t folded the laundry yet…YIKES! Oh well, there’s always tomorrow right? Now onto a better subject. I’m happy to say that I got to stamp this weekend which always makes me so happy, it’s my time to relax. Today was my cousin’s daughter’s 1st birthday party so who better to make a card for than my little sweetie pie! She’s just too CUTE!!! I love this card, it’s very simple but I think it has enough bang to make it noticeable among all the cards she’ll be looking through tonight (she had a pretty big party). Isn’t the “Happy Bearday” sentiment the cutest thing ever? The Build-a-bear sets are my go to sets for anything kid related…they’re perfect! My daughter loves them too because she loves to colour the pictures using the blender pen. The flower on the card is the Paper Daisy and I used my Aqua Painter to dye it Rose Red and Daffodil Delight. I used a green Sharpie to colour the Basic Rhinestones on the left side of the card.

Since I was in a stamping mood tonight I also made cards for my kids’ teachers for Valentine’s day, so there are pictures of that card too. I hope you like them!

-

Second item – if you want to sign-up for the monthly scrapbooking club please let me know ASAP. I’m trying to figure out if I need to start 2 clubs for 2011.

Last item – today’s card!!! Given that Valentine’s day is only 3 days away, I thought I’d make a lovey-dovey card. I love how the clear embossed images echo the beauty of the flower from the Three Little Words stamp set (which you can get FREE during Sale-A-Bration) and the antiquing technique I just learned…thank you Stampin’ Up! I just took my Aqua painter and picked up some Chocolate Chip classic ink (from the lid) and splattered the water by hitting the Aqua painter with my finger…not sure if I explained that very well so I’ve included the YouTube video at the bottom of the post if you want to see it. The video very good actually, it has lots of really neat ideas on how to use the Sale-a-Bration stamp set, Bliss. Here are a couple of pictures of today’s card.

Happy Birthday!

It was my husband’s birthday a few days ago and I made him the card in today’s post. I think he liked it :) I know it’s been a really long time since I posted but I just needed a bit of a break after the Christmas rush. It was supposed to be a couple of weeks but ended up being more like a month and a half…oops! I hope you’re all having a wonderful New Year so far.

I finally put in my first order for 2011 last night and I’m very excited about receiving all my new goodies. I’m especially excited about the “Build a flower” and the “Build a cupcake” punches…they’re going to be so much FUN! I got a couple of Sale-a-bration sets too (for free, I love it!). If you don’t already have a Sale-a-Bration brochure let me know and I’ll get it to you. To take advantage of this super event, all you have to do is place a $60 order, host a $395 workshop or join Stampin’ Up! (at 15% off the regular price of the Starter Kit) to get one of the fabulous Sale-a-Bration items for free.

I’ll be posting my February and March class schedules in the next couple of days but I wanted to give you a sneak peak at a few of the classes. First off, I’ll be starting a new monthly Scrapbooking club towards the end of February with only 5 spots, so email me quick if you want to join. Secondly, I’m thinking of holding a Scrapbook in a day type of a class probably at the end of March. Last but not least, back by popular demand is my Stamp-a-Stack. Similar to the Stampin’ for OTMH event that was held in October but this one will focus on everyday cards, like birthdays and thank you’s.

Stamp Set: Birthday Bakery (hostess level 1)

Ink: Old Olive

Card Stock: Marina Mist, Whisper White and Real Red

For today’s card, I used one of my favourite stamp sets, Snow Swirled, to create this vintage card. Well, it’s as vintage as I get :) The only thing I would add next time I make this card is a little sponging around the Merry Christmas sentiment. I hope you like the card!

The candles we made in the Mommy & Me class turned out awesome on Thursday night and I got to meet a great group of ladies on Friday night. The weekend was pretty crazy too with my hubby working for most (if not all) of it. It was our little guy’s 2nd birthday today but we decided to give him his gift on Sunday. He loved his train table and set which took me till 2am on Saturday night to put together. It was great seeing both kids so happy and actually playing TOGETHER! I finally sent out my first newsletter, which I think turned out pretty good. Birthday card for my uncle

What a weekend? It was fantastic! I volunteered at the OTMH Candlelight Gala on Saturday night and was totally impressed by the whole evening and everyone’s generosity…it was so nice to see. It’s been a very busy few days for me, I finished designing the 5 cards we will be making at Friday’s workshop, finished designing the Mommy & Me projects and finished making all the OTMH card sets. I think it’s about time I got some sleep, what do you think?

Anyway, on with the card for tonight. This is the card I made for my uncle’s birthday on Sunday, I just love the Autumn Spice designer series paper and the Day of Gratitude stamp set. I also posted a picture of the bib card I made for my friend’s baby shower (thank you for taking the picture Victoria). I hope you like the cards and talk to you soon!

Happy Birthday Dad!

Hope you all had an awesome Halloween! We certainly did. I got to give out candy this year and my husband took the kids trick or treating so I got to skip out on that crazy cold we had. The kids loved it and can’t wait till next year…my daughter already started planning every detail! I ate way more chocolate than was necessary so I’ve decided to get back on my detox…unfortunately that includes NO CAFFEINE! Which explains why I haven’t posted all week in case you were wondering where I went, I was just getting to bed way earlier than I normally do. I’m fighting to stay awake right now!

Anyway, on to the card. Don’t you just love this fold! I think it’s called a gate fold, either way it’s kinda nice to try something other than the usual. It uses a hostess stamp set called Afterthoughts…I have to say it’s my favourite hostess set in the 2010-2011 Idea Book and Catalogue. The designer paper is called Elegant Soiree, which has Baja Breeze, Crumb Cake, Soft Suede and Basic Gray — all colours I love! I made this card for my dad’s birthday this weekend. I always find it hard to make a manly card but I think this one works, what do you think? I hope you like it.

Cards 4 & 5

What a day it was today? So much fun, I’m a little sad that it went by so quickly. My daughter had a concert at school for Grandparents, but she made it very clear that parents were invited too. Each class got to sing a song or say a poem about grandparents. It was so cute and very touching…I have to admit I had to quickly wipe away tears before my mom and my in-laws could see. After the concert we got to take the kids home, so we had a lot of extra time together today. It was fantastic!!!

Ok, onto cards 4 & 5. I figure that since tomorrow is Friday I wouldn’t get a chance to post a picture of the last card so I’m posting it today (it’s Friday already actually…hehehe) instead. The fourth card uses the Candy Cane Designer Series Paper from the Holiday Mini, which made my must-have list as soon as I saw it way back at the beginning of July. Did you know that one of the benefits of being a demonstrator is that we get to see and order from the new catalogues a least a month before everyone else does?  The red dots on the piece on the top left corner are all glittered and in the piece in the bottom right corner the red strips are glittered — so pretty and it makes it so easy to add a wow factor to your card in a hurry. How do you like the quilted look of this card? Check out the “Just for you” card using the same design.

Stamp set: Four the Holidays

Card Stock: Whisper White, Blushing Bride, Baja Breeze, Real Red and Garden Green

Ink: Baja Breeze

Other: Candy Cane Designer Series Paper from the Holiday Mini and the Scalloped Trim border punch

The fifth card is super easy but very elegant. With it’s simple colour scheme, you only need minimal supplies.

Stamp set: Delightful Decorations

Card Stock: Cherry Cobbler and Whisper White

Ink:Versamark and Cherry Cobbler

Other: White Embossing powder, silver cord (retired, i think), lattice embossing folder and White Organza ribbon

Card 3 of 5

Hello…just a short post today because it’s getting really late. Here is the third card of 5 from the OTMH fundraiser.  It uses the Dasher stamp from our ‘a la carte’ section, the new Glass Glitter from the Holiday Mini and the Jolly Holiday designer series paper. You can get that paper at 20% off when you bundle it with the Contempo Christmas stamp set (see below). This is a great stamp set for someone that has a contempary style and a budget! Card 2 or 5

Today was super cool, I got to make cards at work over lunch…WOOHOO! I wonder if I can do that everyday?

I’m hoping to start an email newsletter beginning in November to keep you updated on upcoming events, current promotions and best of all they’ll include mini tutorials. To be included on the mailing list please send me an email through the “Contact Me” link at the top of my blog or  call me.

Today I’m sharing the second of 5 cards we made at the OTMH fundraiser. I LOVE this card and the tree from the Snow Swirled stamp set. If you don’t already have that stamp set, it’s a great one to consider because it has both images and sentiments (see below), which means you only need one stamp set to make your Christmas cards. Not only is it economical but it’s absolutely gorgeous to boot! Remember I will only be selling the set of 5 cards until the end of October so make sure to send me your order.

Bring on the Bling!

Well, I’m all done preparing for my workshop tomorrow. We’ll be making 2 cards, gorgeous as always! I don’t usually like to share what I’ll be doing at a workshop on my blog before the workshop just in case any of the attendees check my blog before coming. I hate ruining the surprise — know what I mean?

For today’s post, I’m sharing one of the cards we made at the OTMH fundraiser. It fits perfectly with the Pals Paper Arts challenge (PPA65) for this week — BLING!!! Also, I’m thinking of going back to listing the Stampin’ Up! products that are used to make the posted cards – would you find that helpful? Leave me a comment with your response please.

1 Design, 2 Cards!

I love weekends! Today I got to spend most of the day with the kids and I made it a point not to rush too much. Believe it or not I actually feel terrible about always telling my kids to hurry up, let’s go, we’re going to be late. I think it’s all my kids hear from me during the week, so it’s nice sometimes to let them do things at their own pace. Even if it drives me crazy on the inside.

It was my friend Victoria’s baby shower today so I made her a bib card but I forgot to take a picture of it before running out the door. I’ll have to ask her if I can take a picture of it so I can share with you…I just thought it was the cutest thing ever (I’m a little biased, heehee). The shower was a lot of fun and I think my daughter enjoyed it too, she really liked Caesar their cat. I’ll have to ask Victoria’s mother-in-law for the cake recipe, it was delicious!!!

Here are the two cards I made today. I’ll be sending the Halloween card to Gaile, the demonstrator that gave me the key chain yesterday. Halloween is her favourite holiday (if that’s what we’re calling it) so I thought she might like it better than a thank you card. To be honest, I don’t even own a Halloween stamp set so this card was a stretch for me and I hope she likes it. I really liked the design though so I thought I’d try it with the Candy Cane designer paper from the mini. I hope you like the cards!
